Curveball Leisure is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Technology to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape our company’s technological initiatives, aligning them with business objectives, and managing our technical team. 

Job Summary:

The Head of Technology will lead our technical team, develop and implement technology strategies that align with business goals, and ensure the efficient operation of our technology infrastructure. 

This role involves continued digital transformation, managing technology resources, and fostering innovation within the organisation. It’s a new role at the company and we are flexible with it, imagining the time split being approximately 30% management, 40% hands-on tech, 30% strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technology Strategy Development:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that supports business objectives.
  • Stay updated on appropriate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organisation.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage our small technical team along with external companies and contractors. 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and digital transformation.
• Infrastructure and Operations:
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of technology infrastructure, including cloud services, cybersecurity, and data management.
  • Ensure optimal performance, security, and efficiency of all technology systems.
• Project Management:
  • Manage technology projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align technology initiatives with business goals.
• Change Management:
  • Proactively manage organisational change related to technology adoption.
  • Anticipate and address morale issues arising from technological changes.
• Budgeting and Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage IT budgets to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Optimise resource allocation to maximise technology investments.

Requirements:

• Experience:
  • Proven experience in technology leadership roles, with a strong background in software development, system architecture, and technology strategy.
• Skills:
  • Technical vision, innovation management and problem solving.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of out tech stack, cybersecurity, and data management.

Core technologies:

• We have recently upgraded to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• We are soon to move our ecommerce arm, https://www.thegamecollection.net/ to Shopify Plus.
• We are heavily utilising the Microsoft suite: M365, Business Central, Power Automate, Power Apps
• We are keen to leverage AI and agents where possible to increase efficiencies (there’s lots to go after).
